Sybil Hill has sold over 300 paintings and her work hangs in prominent collections throughout the world including the Texas Commerce Bank in Dallas and Franklin Levinson, The Horse Whisperer in Aspen Colorado. She donates many of her profits to charitable causes such as Friends of Animals, Childrens Health Foundation, and the American Red Cross, to name a few. Sybil background as an artist started when she was a child in Texas painting with her father in his studio. His creative edge and guidance influenced her from an early age. Her studies have taken her all over the globe from an Art League in Puerto Rico to New York, Italy and France. Mans link to horses is ancient. So it is no surprise that as an artist she is passionately intrigued with their spirit. Painting hypnotizes her and time is forgotten. Sybils paintings are oil in a mixed media collage with vintage papers, newspapers, pages out of old history books (centered on the west) and music sheets. Splashes of mixed media paint over the subject create energy and a spirit through each piece. Each piece of work has its own story. Finally, she applies a clear resin on top to protect the subject and give it an abstract feel of a glass sheet. Some paintings contain hidden messages and poetry buried within the collage. Sybil loves the horses spirit, the clairvoyant energy that envelops them; their eyes evoking an unseen aura of awareness ancient, timeless. She tries to capture that spirit in her work.
