Born and raised in Oklahome, K now calls rural New Mexico home. Both locations provide her with inspiration for her western contemporary themed paintings. She is also known for her detailed oil paintings of still life, American Indians, cowboys and horses.

She has attained national recognition with her work as her numerous awards will tell. Her work has been in a group show at the Smithsonian National Museum of American Indian, CM Russell Museum Auction Benefit, Museum of the Cherokee, Oil Painters of America National and Regional and featured in many books.
